Noticing the hummingbird - May 31, 2013

A hummingbird built a nest at our house. This is a blog to follow the nest building, egg laying, hatching, and new hummingbirds going out on their own.

We were sitting in the hot tub, and saw a hummingbird land on a broken toucan that was hanging from the eve of the house. At first, I thought the bird must land there a lot, because it looked like there was quite a lot of droppings on the back of the toucan. Then we realized she's actually building a nest.
